These essays were collected by at the Brentwood Public Library by librarian Martha Stepsis when she assisted students with their assignments over the years. These essays primarily cover the initial founding of the reformist colony of Modern Times in the mid-19th Century, which would eventually become modern Brentwood. Most were written during the 1970s and 1980s.They also range from basic papers done by elementary school students to full research papers and theses done by collegiate students.
