About
Albany County Historical Association’s digital collection on New York Heritage represents a portion of our diverse holdings. Our collection represents the history of Albany County and is comprised of a variety of items ACHA has acquired over the years through purchase and donation.
Albany County Historical Association was founded in 1942. It is a private, not-for-profit educational corporation headquartered at the historic Ten Broeck Mansion in the Arbor Hill neighborhood of the city of Albany, New York. The mission of the ACHA is to preserve, present, and promote the rich history and culture of Albany County.
Since 1942, the Albany County Historical Association has been interpreting Albany's history. In 1948, the ACHA was charged with the stewardship of the historic Ten Broeck Mansion, and for more than a half-century has been maintaining, preserving, and making historically accurate renovations for the benefit and enjoyment of the community and to ensure the integrity and history that the mansion stands for.
Albany County Historical Association is a member of the Capital District Library Council.
