Scope of Collection

A collection containing records from the family of Edmund L. Judson (1830-1890), mayor of Albany from 1874-1876. It features a sketchbook created by his daughter Elizabeth (Lizzie) Judson (1862-1959) during the summers of 1885, 1886, and 1887. The collection depicts the Albany County, New York area, late 19th Century travel, young women's leisure activities, gardens, and reflects the visual aesthetics of prosperous Albany residents.
