Historical Context

In June of 1972, Hurricane Agnes stalled over the twin tiers region and dropped around 15 inches of rain on an already saturated area.  Allegany County, like Steuben, Chemung, and other counties, faced extensive flooding, especially in the area along the Genesee River.
