Diaries of Margaret Jones
Margaret C. Jones was born in 1900 in Edmeston, to Richard and Emma Jones. She graduated from the local high school, Edmeston Central School, and then earned a teaching degree in Oneonta.
Jones taught in Edmeston for 51 years, despite having a physical condition that made speech difficult. She worked at Goodrich, Carr, Cobblestone, Basswood, and North Edmeston rural schools, as well as the high school.
Ms. Jones never married but had a rich network of friends and was an active member of the Second Baptist Church of Edmeston.
