Barbara Parnass was a founding board member of Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) in 1990 and served on the board until her death in 2002 and who established AARCH’s photographic collection in the early 1990s. The images in this collection are her own personal work, which captures the rich and diverse architectural heritage of the Adirondack region.
Scope of Collection
Within the collection one can find photographs of lakeside camps, cure cottages, boathouses, downtown and civic buildings, gas stations, motels, and ice cream stands among many other subjects. Of particular interest are images of the construction of the 1983 Saranac Lake Ice Palace, and Camp Sagamore. Some aerial photographs of the region are included.
