About

The West Hurley Public Library comprises half of the town of Hurley, NY in the Hudson Valley of New York State. Our mission is to collect, preserve, and make available library materials in print and electronic formats to serve the recreational, informational, educational, and leisure needs of the chartered community. The West Hurley Public Library is committed to supporting a lifelong enjoyment of reading and learning.

The Library has a small staff consisting of one professional librarian and several clerks. In addition, volunteers supply much needed extra manpower to help with preservation and digitization. Because of the library’s limited space and staff, we limit our collection to the Ulster County area with an emphasis on the West Hurley area. Our policies and procedures are designed to create and preserve this collection for our community.

West Hurley Public Library is a member of the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council.
