About

From sterling silver to old buildings and archives, Southampton History Museum has been preserving and promoting the shared history and culture of Southampton, NY, for more than 125 years. Established in 1898 and incorporated in 1910, we currently operate four separate heritage sites, featuring 14 historic structures with changing exhibitions, an archives and research center, as well as educational programs for school children, families, and adults. Our headquarters is located at Rogers Mansion (built ca. 1843) in Southampton Village, where we maintain an Archives & Research Center dedicated to the history of greater Southampton. Our resources comprise over 8,000 volumes, photographs, maps and more on a wide range of subjects from account books to family memorabilia.

Our Mission: Southampton History Museum preserves and promotes the history and culture of greater Southampton by engaging diverse audiences with our shared heritage.

Southampton History Museum is a member of the Long Island Library Resources Council.
