Westchester Defense Volunteer Cards

This collection of 28 Westchester Defense Volunteer enrollment cards and 5 Bureau of Identification Civil Fingerprint Cards date from 1941-1942. They give us a snapshot of the men who volunteered to join the Westchester Defense Volunteers during World War II. Most of the volunteers were born in either the last decade of the 19th century or the first decade of the 20th century. Details include address, occupation, place of birth, marriage status, children, car, character references, height, weight, eye and hair color, and distinguishing characteristics, as well as fingerprints.
