Local Government Photographs from the Goff-Nelson Memorial Library Photograph Collection
The area around Tupper Lake was first settled in 1844, and since very soon thereafter it has served as a major lumber producer in New York State.
Scope of Collection
This series contains images documenting the local government of Tupper Lake from approximately 1910 to 2010. This includes town offices, public meetings in official buildings, events, and municipal entities such as the Highway Department and Chamber of Commerce. There are also a significant number of photographs of local officials and politicians including various mayors and board members.
