About

Webb Institute is a small, undergraduate, full-scholarship college and the only college in the United States dedicated solely to the study of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. The “Braes,” the former summer residence of Herbert L. Pratt and family, became the home of Webb Institute of Naval Architecture in 1947. Prior to 1947, Webb’s Academy and Home for Shipbuilders was located on a hill in Fordham Heights in the Bronx overlooking the Hudson River. In 1920, reflecting this academic mission, the school’s name was changed to Webb Institute of Naval Architecture.

Webb Institute - Livingston Library is a member of the Long Island Library Resources Council.
