Syracuse University Libraries
About
Syracuse University Libraries provides expertise, information and tools for students, faculty and staff, alumni and the community. With over 4.7 million titles accessed by more than a million and a half physical and online visits annually, the Libraries provides information services, responsive collections, knowledgeable staff and safe and accessible physical and digital spaces that encourage intellectual exploration. In so doing, the Libraries enable the creation of new knowledge, catalyze scholarly collaboration and cultural exchange, and advance Syracuse University’s teaching, learning and research mission.
The Digital Library supports locally produced, unique digital content by coordinating and managing the technical activities and infrastructure that produce, describe, manage, and preserve these materials. It supports research, teaching, and learning by facilitating access to digital collections and encouraging creative engagement and use, primarily through its Digital Collections site as well as in SURFACE, the university's open access institutional repository. Through the Libraries' membership with CLRC the Digital Library team also works with on-campus affiliates and to create and sponsor broad access to digital collections curated outside the Libraries and published in New York Heritage.
