Sea Cliff Village Museum

About

Following the celebration of the American bicentennial in 1976, a number of Sea Cliff residents formed the Sea Cliff Village Museum in an effort to preserve the village’s history. The museum was officially chartered by the State of New York in 1979, with Charles Hurley serving as the first president of the museum's board of trustees. The Sea Cliff Village Museum has amassed a vast collection of documents, photographs, artifacts, tools, and art. The archive, which is particularly strong in early twentieth century photographs of the village, is regularly used by writers, genealogists and students.

The museum’s mission is to raise community awareness by preserving and showcasing artifacts, documents, photographs, and costumes relating to the unique historical background of our village.

Sea Cliff Village Museum is a member of the Long Island Library Resources Council.
