About
History
Paine Branch Library was originally the Eastwood Library, and became part of the Syracuse Public Library system when Eastwood was annexed by the city in 1926. It was then known as the Eastwood Branch. The present facility, named for local newspaperman and librarian Dr. Paul Mayo Paine, opened on March 19, 1958. Dr. Paine served as the Director of the Syracuse Public Library from 1915-1942.
Collection
The library collection consists of nearly 20,000 books and media resources, a unique collection of historical materials about the Eastwood community.
Technology
We offer internet computers for adults and children, and offer free wireless access. Copy, print and fax services are available for a small fee.
Events & Programs
The library also offers a variety of engaging programs for people of all ages.
