About

As originally stated in 1887, the mission of the Moffat Library of Washingtonville is to offer our collection and services as a source of information, education, enlightenment and entertainment to all members of our community.

Our Local History Collection is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing historic images, documents, and other items related to the history of the Village of Washingtonville, Town of Blooming Grove; as well as the surrounding areas of Orange County.

Moffat Library of Washingtonville is a member of the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council.

Return of Field Staff of 148th Regiment, New York State Militia taken on October 8, 1819

This collection contains inspection returns for the 148th Regiment of New York State Militia, of the 19th Brigade of Infantry commanded by Colonel Benjamin Dunning (1781-1861), specifically for the Columbian Concert held on October 8th, 1819.
