Violetta White Delafield (1875-1949) began to study botany in the 1890s and was for many years a member of the New York Botanical Garden. An accomplished amateur mycologist, Violetta published several technical papers on fungi, and created hundreds of annotated watercolors.
Scope of Collection
This collection represents a series of watercolor drawings Delafield made at Montgomery Place--an estate now owned by Bard--between 1922 and 1926.
