Historical Context

In 1946, Syracuse University launched Utica College.  Originally, the school was located in a section of downtown Utica known as Oneida Square.  In 1961, the school moved to its current site on Burrstone Road.  Utica College completed its transition to full independence in the fall of 2008 and achieved University status in 2022.  Since 1998, the University has offered graduate degree programs, including master's and doctorate options in a broad range of fields.

Scope of Collection

The collection includes digital copies of 68 yearbooks, published as "Annales" from 1950-1984 and 1988-1989, "The Pioneer" from 1985-1987, and "Legacy" from 1990-2017.  The yearbooks contain photos of faculty and students, as well as written essays, with special focus on athletics, student organizations, awards, campus events, and senior portraits.  The yearbook has always been a student publication, and the yearbook staffers' names as featured in each volume.
