Newfield's Old Home Days first began in the 1920s, as a picnic gathering on a church lawn. It has since grown to an annual community event that includes a parade, a carnival, fireworks, live music, vendors, local non-profits, food and drink, and other activities.
Each year, the organizing committee has printed a lengthy program booklet. This booklet includes schedule information for the festival as well as ads from the many sponsoring businesses and organizations. The committee also publishes historical articles and personal reminiscences in the programs. As a result, the decades' worth of program booklets serve as a directory and historical record for the Newfield community.
