Naples Library Manuscripts and Documents

The collection is the diary of Presbyterian Minister, John C. Morgan, describing his experiences as a minister in small, rural New York communities, including Naples, Branchport, and Ira. He spends considerable time writing about a period of religious strife in Naples and Cohocton, NY, around 1835 where a Christian Perfectionist movement took hold. The manuscript is handwritten, but there is a typed transcription of the work.
