Library Cadet, Joseph Spagnoli, conducted the interviews for this project in 1969. Spagnoli was a student at C. W. Post and was working at the library as part of a federally funded project recruiting college students to become librarians.

The digitization of these reel-to-reel audio tape recordings was made possible through the Long Island Library Resources Council Digitization Services and was completed by Robert Anen, Project Archivist.
