Scope of Collection

This collection includes select images from the CCHS Postcard Collection of Kinderhook Village and Town of Kinderhook. It includes depictions of Kinderhook landscapes and architecture, as well as scenes of daily life. Additionally, there are several images of historic properties now managed by CCHS. These include the James Vanderpoel House, Luykas Van Alen House, and Ichabod Crane Schoolhouse. There are also postcards of Lindenwald, the home of eighth U.S. President Martin Van Buren (now the Martin Van Buren National Historic Site).
