Historical Context

The Jordan Study Club, colloquially called "The Study Club", is the oldest active women's club in the Town of Elbridge.  Founded in 1915 with the purpose of providing a space for the women of Jordan and Elbridge to gather, discuss topics of interest, and be an organization where women would be welcome in contrast to the men only memberships of clubs such as the Lions, Freemasons, and Society of Odd Fellows.  This makes it a valuable resource into local history, genealogy, and women's history and studies; providing insight into issues and topics that interested the women of our community through major events of the 20th century.

Scope of Collection

The Jordan Study Club Documents is composed of the Club's Meeting Minutes from 1915 to May 18, 2022 as well as the Treasurer's Notes from 1956-1961.
