The Office of College Relations began publication of an in-house newsletter in October, 1972 called News-Noticias because of the multicultural population of students, faculty and staff. The publication went through several design changes through the years to accommodate ease of publication. Staff shortages cut publication from twice a month to once. No newsletters were published from November 1987 to August 1989 until a vacant editor position was filled. September 1989 newsletter name changed to “Old Westbury World/El Mundo de Old Westbury”. The publication structure changed in January 1993 with Volume VI, Number 1 after Director of College Relations Claire Meirowitz retired and Office of President took over. September 1993 Volume VII Number 1 issue was the last to feature “El Mundo de Old Westbury” as part of the newsletter name and Old Westbury World continued until January 1998. Old Westbury Monthly began in September 1999 with the college’s inauguration of President Calvin O. Butts III and ran until April 2004. Currently a fully digital newsletter has taken its place that is emailed to all on campus weekly called the Current.
