SUNY Broome Community College was first founded in 1946 as New York State Institute of Applied Arts & Sciences at Binghamton. It became Broome County Technical Institute in 1953 and Broome Technical Community College in 1956. In 1971, it was renamed Broome Community College, and finally, in 2013, became SUNY Broome. It is located in Dickinson, north of Binghamton in Broome County.
