Historical Context

The Christian Investigator was a monthly newspaper published and edited by William Goodell between 1841 and 1848. Originally it was published in Whitesboro, New York, but later moved to Honeoye, New York. William Goodell helped organize the American Anti-Slavery Society, and was very active in the anti-slavery movement, as well as the temperance movement.

Scope of Collection

This collection contains three issues of Christian Investigator published by William Goodell. These issues date from 1842 through 1843. The contents relate to the abolitionist movement and religion.
