Historical Context

Potsdam is located in St. Lawrence County, New York and was founded in 1806 and was the site of both the St. Lawrence Academy (Now SUNY Potsdam) and Clarkson University.

Scope of Collection

This collection contains photographs of the Potsdam area which feature automobiles, taken between 1914 and 1976. Included in the collection are photographs of numerous types of automobiles, as well as photographs of automobile accidents – mostly between early ford models. Also included are images of storefronts and other buildings in town, including the depot and police station.
