Items in New York Heritage are organized into collections, which provide additional context for understanding their significance and meaning.
The Wing/Roberts collection contains documents, letters, transcripts, photographs and glass plate negatives related to the Wing/Roberts Family of Glens Falls, New York.
This collection comprises a series of unmailed Civil War-era patriotic envelopes or covers that was presented to Union College by John M. Pearson. The patriotic covers featured in this collection primarily depict themes supporting the Northern or Union cause. This includes political cartoons and caricatures of patriotic symbols and political messages both for and against the Northern and Southern leaders of the time.
The Geneva City Directories collection includes directories from 1862-2000. The directories contain an alphabetical directory, including a telephone directory of all residents over 18 (when available). Directories also include detailed information concerning each a civic section of local interest, a complete buyers' guide and classified business directory with special listings for nationally advertised brands. In some directories, a street guide and householders' directory showing telephone numbers arranged by streets is included.
