The Burr truss is one of the most widespread timber bridge designs that can still be seen in covered bridges today. Located at the Oxford Memorial Library, the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Resource Center hosts a vast library of covered bridge related books, magazines, and newsletters from all the bridge societies in existence today, as well as some that no longer exist.
This collection consists of High School Yearbooks from the Central library's and Chemung County Historical Society yearbook collection. Initially we will include Elmira Free Academy and Elmira Southside High School yearbooks. As the collection grows, we will include Thomas Edison, Horseheads, and Notre Dame High Schools. To protect privacy of the students and faculty, the Chemung County Library District will not upload a yearbook until 75 years after its publication.
