The JR Williams Health Sciences Library image archives is a digital repository for the historical development and growth of Highland Hospital, Rochester, N.Y. and the history of Highland’s School of Nursing. The archives’ collections tell the story of the "Rebel on the Hill", originating as a homeopathic hospital, and the first hospital in the United States to use insulin for the treatment of diabetes. When the hospital began it was named Hahnemann Hospital after homeopathy's founder, Dr. Samuel Christian Frederick Hahnemann, the name was changed to Highland Hospital in 1921.
